Sept. 6, 1871:
"Morning cloudy; after ten oclock clear and hot. Went t o Hopkinton and Concord line near mast yard to survey  a large lot of timberland burnt over from a spark from R.R. Engine july 8th. Boarded for the night at Andrew Beswells, Concord. LOW: 56; HI: 80"

Sept. 7, 1871:
"Cloudy and sprinkle of rain in the morning. Before noon windchanged form S.W. To N.W. And blew very hard till night, clearing away the clouds and becoming cool. LOW: 63; HI: 68"

Sept. 8, 1871:
"White frost in low places. Cloudless day; very fine. Low: 40; High: 68"

[H.H. Harriman was a Warner, NH farmer, surveyor, estate lawyer and all-around voice of reason in a town riven by political and economic strife. He was the weatherman and kept daily diaries until his death from a broken heart in 1878 (but that's another story...told in our movie, "This Morning Broke Clear.")]
